Forbes Names LifeStar Malta Marathon As A Must-Run Race

Forbes has ranked the LifeStar Malta Marathon among the top 12 must-run marathons of 2025, highlighting it as a race worth traveling for. Scheduled for February 23, 2025, Malta’s premier marathon is celebrating its 40th edition and is the first stop on Forbes‘ curated list of exceptional road races.

The article praises the scenic and historic course, which starts in the medieval city of Mdina at 623 feet above sea level and winds through picturesque towns before finishing at the coast. The predominantly downhill route offers a unique challenge for runners while showcasing Malta’s stunning landscapes.

Race Director Joe Micallef expressed pride in the recognition, stating, “Being featured in Forbes is a testament to our hard work and the marathon’s growing global appeal. With over 4,000 registered participants, including 2,400 international runners from 82 countries, we are set for a record-breaking year.”

The LifeStar Malta Marathon joins prestigious races such as the Boston Marathon, New York City Marathon, and Run Rome the Marathon on Forbes’ 2025 must-run list.
