A Triathlon with a Twist!

Eurosport and Garmin are excited to announce the upcoming Relay Tri GO & FUN Edition, a one-of-a-kind relay triathlon that promises excitement and competition. This unique event, proudly sponsored by Bay Easy 100.2FM, will kick off at 7:30 AM, ensuring an exhilarating morning filled with athleticism and teamwork.

Event Details:

• Date & Time: The race begins sharply at 7:30 AM, with roads closing from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM to provide a safe, uninterrupted racing environment.
• Location: Detailed location information will be provided upon registration confirmation.
• Age Requirement: Participants must be 16 years of age or older, making this event a fantastic opportunity for young athletes to showcase their skills alongside seasoned triathletes.
• Team Composition: A maximum of 320 participants, forming 80 teams of four, will be allowed to enter. Each team must include at least one male or female member to ensure a diverse and inclusive race dynamic.

Race Format:

The race will unfold in a sequential triathlon format with each team member taking on one segment of the triathlon — biking, running, and swimming. The bike leg will begin in waves of 20, with a one-minute interval between each, ensuring a fair and competitive start for all. Notably, the bike leg is draft-legal, though time trial bikes and e-bikes are not permitted to maintain the challenge’s integrity.

Two minutes after the last bike wave, the run segment will commence. Runners will take to the pavement and cycle lanes, carrying their race bibs and maintaining the spirit of the competition. Following the run, the swimming component will start 20 minutes later with a dynamic beach start from the top of the ramp, circling back to the same point.

Timing and Transitions:

Participants will use chipped timing for accurate tracking from start to finish. A securely monitored transition area will facilitate the changeover from one team member to the next, with organizers overseeing each switch to ensure fairness and order.

Registration and Rules:

Teams are encouraged to register promptly as spots are limited to the first 320 participants. Should any changes in team composition be necessary, teams must inform the organizers via email. The registration will close once the maximum capacity is reached.

Post-Race Celebration:

All participants will receive goody bags distributed at the race’s conclusion, celebrating their hard work and participation. This event is not just a competition; it’s a celebration of fitness, teamwork, and community spirit.
